Reviews
for Walker's Trail Senior Living
I highly recommend! I was looking for a place for my father. Every single person I talked to and worked with was caring, knowledgeable and supportive. The facility is a place I could easily see my father being happy in and I would enjoy visiting him.
Although we are not yet customers, Andrea James did a terrific job describing the services and care available at Walker’s Trail. Andrea is empathetic, professional, personable, and very helpful.
We had the privilege today doing lunch with Bullheaded BBQ truck It was an amazing experience. The staff are top notch and this place is awesome.
Andrea and her team was so awesome to work with. They made the transition of or client to Walker’s Trail very easy. Not to mention how impressed I was with the facility.
A Place for Mom connected me with Walker’s Trail. Andrea, Outside Sales Director, showed us the establishment. We loved it, but still viewed a couple other places to make certain this was the right place for my mom. A few days later Andrea called to see how things were going as we had decided to just bring Mom to our house. A few days later Andrea checked on us again. A few days after we took Mom to be a resident at Walker’s Trail. About a month after Mom moved in one of the other places called to see if we’d made a decision about where to place Mom. I advised we placed her at Walker’s Trail. The other place asked “why would you choose them over us?” 1) Andrea followed up with us in a few days not a month later, 2) Walker’s Trail has a nicer facility and 3) pricing is around $1,200 less than the place that was calling me. Andrea has continued to be a champion for us.
The cleanliness, food is great, mom enjoys the activities, every single person there treats her with respect and is kind to her and us, always help her when she needs it, and they have family events that they put a lot of effort into. I feel very confident in the care they're giving her.
Walker’s Trail has been a wonderful place for my mom. Everyone there treats her with respect and kindness, and I know she is being well taken care of. It’s very clean, the food is outstanding, and she really enjoys the activities they provide. They have family events and they go out of their way to provide good food and a good time for us to share together. We couldn’t be happier with Walker’s Trail.
Great place for our Mother to be.
I highly recommend Walkers Trail Senior Living in Danville KY. They take great care of my mother.
Great place with caring staff who care about the residents!
Very helpful with all admission questions. Very friendly and personable
Listen. The staff is loving and kind. They hug my mom and kiss her on the forehead and tell her they love her. We had a glitch with her meds at the beginning, but it got worked out. The nurses are very respectful of Mom's health concerns and call us if they think something new needs to be addressed. My husband and I visit Mom 2-3x per week. My daughter and her husband visit at least 1x per week. I have been trying for 6 weeks to get the doctor to see my mother and he still hasn't seen her, yet she's been in the ER 2x and has had a tooth pulled. Note: This was one of the perks that we liked that there is a doctor who visits 1x per week so we didn't have to take Mom out in the freezing winter weather. Well, there are hoops that you have to jump thru to get the doctor to see your senior... 1) somewhere there is a sign up list- no ever told me this, nor have they since showed me where it is. Also, you have to have them on the list before noon on Tuesday. 2) he is supposed to come on Wednesday afternoons, but on a whim came on a Wednesday morning. He still didn't visit my mom. 3) after my mom's first ER visit...she was told she was on the list, but ended up wasn't on the list...he begrudgingly listened to her heart & lungs. He stood in the hallway of my mother's room flapping papers around saying she's not in my list...I do t have her chart. In this day & age of technology why is he carrying papers? He should have a laptop to have full access to all residents, because things happen after noon on Tuesdays with the elderly! 4) supposedly, this week (week #6) she was on the list, but there were only 2-3 residents on the list for him to visit. It wasn't worth his time to visit these 2-3 senior citizens who are counting on him. We ended up taking mom to her prior PCP who sent who to the ER in An ambulance. I'm certain most doctors aren't thrilled about caring for the elderly, but my goodness, they deserve the same care and consideration as any other younger patient. As you may have gathered I am not pleased with this doctor or the rules pertaining to getting to see the doctor. I am frustrated with just that situation.
They appear understaffed quite a bit but I know that is the norm these days. Overall... it was a good experience and we would recommend Walker's Trail Senior Living to other families who may need a place for their loved ones
Not the place to be for a diabetic. Also very unorganized. Meds were lost, unable to find and many more issues. Watch your bill closely, especially with your first bill. We were overcharged. Would not recommend UNLESS you are looking for a retirement home only with no diabetic medical needs.
I may change this rating if the doctor is either replaced or another doctor comes on board. Per the doctor, he will not assist my family member since she sees a diabetic specialist.
My loved one is currently a resident at Walker's Trail Senior Living and everything has been great for her at this facility. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The food and activities are great. The staff and care services are also great. I would recommend Walker's Trail Senior Living to family and friends.
My mom moved into Walker's Trail Senior Living. It was close to my home, which was important to me in terms of being able to visit. They had availability and it was newer and had good reviews in the past. The staff is very good with the residents and there's good communication about what's going on there. So that was kind of important to me. They have some gardening that they do, puzzles, and just some small events on campus. So that's kind of what she's involved with. The food is all right, not great, and some other meals are ok. I think her room is nice. She has a shared bathroom, which is maybe not ideal, but it's a fairly new community. And there's a nice window, it's spacious, and there's a lot of light.
It was a great experience for our family at Walker's Trail Senior Living. The staff took excellent care of my brother. They were always very accommodating with whatever we needed. The facility is clean and very spacious.
My grandmother looked at several other places in the area and quickly knew Walker's Trail was the place for her! Not only is the building beautiful inside and out, it is filled with caring staff that go above and beyond to put their residents first. Hands down the best senior living option in Danville!
Making the decision to place our mom in Memory Care was one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make. From the moment we contacted Walker’s Trail to schedule a tour until mom’s passing, we highly commend the staff, facility and the excellent care and services they provide. We had a few family challenges that arose during mom’s stay at Walker’s Trail. Executive Director, Lindsey and staff met with us, listened to us, and helped us determine the best path forward. They became our partner in this very difficult journey. Every staff person made such an impression on our mom’s heart as well as ours. The staff loved our mother dearly, cared for her graciously and our mother loved them right back. They took her on special field trips, assigned her daily tasks to help her feel needed and valued, they laughed with her and at times they cried with her. We highly recommend Walker’s Trail to others looking for customized care in a safe and nurturing environment.
Recently my mom had a respite stay at Walker’s Trail Senior Living. I could not be more pleased with the care and customer service she received. As her full-time caregiver, I was able to get a break because I was confident she was in good hands. The staff was kind and friendly, and she loved the food. I would highly recommend Walker’s Trail Senior Living.
I recently received respite care at Walker's Trail Senior Living in Danville, KY. The staff and nurses were the best. They check on you throughout the day, I will not disclose my health issues, but suffice it to say, they adjusted their care to my needs. They are friendly, and not rushed. It is important, at least to me, that I am not rushed and they understood that. They do everything for you, they are at your beck and call. If you want an ice tea in middle of day or late at night, they will bring it to you. The place itself is beautiful. It's airy, clean and very very quiet which allows for excellent rest. It seems that the building absorbs sounds. I had the best sleep I have ever had here. The food is incredible, large BLTs, delicious chicken, wide variety of options. Salads were also great. But the chef's mashed potatoes, none better. I had a dish one night I liked so much I ordered it every other night after that. My hands down favorite though, came one night in the form of Watergate Salad. Oh my gosh, what a sweet surprise. I love Watergate Salad, and this one was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend Walker's Trail for Senior Living as they accommodate your every need and give exceptional Customer Service
Walker's Trail is such an incredible campus! The staff are amazing and so attentive, the food is DELICIOUS, and there are always so many amazing events and activities taken place! If my mom was needing a place to live, this would be the place!
Beautiful community with lovely outdoor courtyard. The food is amazing and the staff engaging and fun.
The staff need to get on the same page.walker trail needs to do what they say they are going to do.
Lindsey, Laura and the crew are amazing to work with!! I highly recommend this facility!
Walker's Trail is a great place to live. Management is fabulous the workers do their jobs, pay attention to the patients and give everyone the help they need. The kitchen is incomparable to anyone in the area, as it has restaurant quality food. Life Enrichment is fun. We go on outings, to dinner and lunch. We have been to karaoke and all kinds of fun things. There is no better Senior Living in the state !
The staff here makes everyone feel at home! Their service is incredible and have exceeded all of my expectations. There's no other place I'd rather send my grandmother!! She is blown away by their attention to detail.
While I do not have a loved one residing at Walkers Trail, I do have loved ones that work here. Building is clean, staff is professional & most importantly- the residents are smiling & happy. If you or a loved one are looking for an assisted living facility- I would recommend Walkers Trail 10/10 times.
Absolutely beautiful facility and wonderful food.
I cannot begin to think of a better place for a loved one to live when living at home is no longer an option. I visit frequently so I have the opportunity to see much of day to day operations. I can say without hesitation that Walker's Trail is the loveliest of senior living facilities. The facility itself is beautifully decorated and always clean as a pin, the food is excellent and the living quarters are so home-like and comfortable. But that's just half of the story. From the administration, to clerical, activities personnel, dietary, nursing, housekeeping and maintenance (hope I didn't leave anybody out), I have only compliments for the caring, thoughtful way the entire staff interacts with the residents. I'm thankful I found such a place for my loved one.
The staff here is nothing short of amazing! Everyone is caring, skilled, compassionate, and fun to be around. They create an atmosphere of community that everyone can enjoy.
Alexandria (LED), Lindsey (ED) and Becky (Director of Food Services) are some of the sweetest souls! I know Alex personally and she has always had a heart for the elderly. She’s an excellent activity director with a great deal of experience. Laura (Leader of Health Services) and Bonnie (Business Office Manager) have the residents’ best interest in mind and are hyper-focused on creating an environment that promotes the happiness and welfare of each resident and team member. All of these ladies truly care about people and that is only more so elevated in their chosen career paths as caregivers and leaders. Anyone would be blessed to call Walker Trail their home. They are a blessing.
New, clean, beautiful facility with very attentive, caring staff.
Walker’s trail is a beautiful building inside and out. There is plenty of activities for residents to do all day, the food is amazing, and the staff is wonderful and truly care about the residents like family. As a staff member this is the best management and company to work for!
