Reviews
for Westport Place Health Campus
When my friend was sent to Westport for rehab I was so glad to personally see the care she was given. The staff were so friendly and genuinely cared about her. They checked on her often even if she didn’t call them. The food was top notch. They even had a salad bar that beat cattleman’s. They made sure all medications and physical therapy was done in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this facility for any of my friends or loved ones.
My father is here now we are two days in and this is a nightmare first day he didn’t get breakfast I called for two hours no one ever answered I had to drive there to get him food I brought him clothes that morning because the lay eggs on the day before while he was still at the hospital told me he would not be moved until the next day which they lied as soon as they got approval they moved him that night did not notify me they were moving him so I get in there to get him breakfast. Nobody answers the phone for two hours. I get every excuse that’s why that happened. I was gonna get him dressed. They asked me not to. They said oh T would like to come down and get him dressed and evaluate him. I waited 45 minutes. I didn’t tell them I had a doctors appointment to get to no one ever came so I got him dressed. He was sitting in shit. I asked him if he knew that and he said the guy just checked him before I got there told him that he was clean. He didn’t need to be changed so of course I had to take him to the bathroom and get him cleaned up. I get them all together and I leave. I’ll come back after my doctors appointment. He’s sitting in the chair, head down, drooling all over himself. I asked if he had had his medication and let me tell you at 10:30 in the morning, he was just getting his morning meds and he’s got Parkinson’s if he doesn’t get his meds on time this is what happens to drooling. I couldn’t get an answer so I get them in the recliner chair so he doesn’t fall out the floor get him situated. I leave again. He calls me at 7:30. He tells me he’s hungry. He hasn’t gotten dinner so here we go again facility for an hour and a half. Finally, some kid answers tells me he doesn’t know why he didn’t get a dinner tray, but he could offer him a sandwich. My dad is on a chopped up diet because he will choke. I’m like he cannot eat a sandwich so again I have to get in my car for the third time today. Drive up there and take him some food. I told them multiple times he has to have assistance eating so I had to stay there and make sure he ate. He was crooked in the bed. He said look how they threw me in the bed or his exact words so I got him straightened up I leave after talking to staff and Voice and how angry I am about this and I told him I’d be better off taking him home. I could save a whole lot of gas and trouble coming up here and I can do better than this at home by myself so here we are day two I call him first thing this morning. He hasn’t had breakfast at 8 o’clock I’m gonna have to again go up there. The lady across the hall has screamed all night long when I called my dad. I couldn’t even have a phone conversation with them because for 24 minutes all I can do is listen to this scream like something was wrong like a psych nobody ever responded to her. My dad‘s been up all night long listening to that this is not a unit so I am waiting for administration in the DON and we’re gonna have a powwow and I will call State. I will call OYG. I will call Medicare Medicaid. Everybody I can. None of this is acceptable.
My husband died there because of lack of care
I was there for approximately two weeks. My experience with the physical therapy department was wonderful. So helpful and really cared. I wish I could say the same about the rest of my stay. The room was drab, the toilet never worked (People were constantly having to come in and work on it and never did get it properly working), quite a few of the aides were disinterested, Especially when it came to helping me into the restroom and in getting someone to bring me my pain medications. The food was average but sometimes I got the wrong things. I would hesitate to recommend this facility except for their physical therapy department.
My mother is doing rehab here after foot surgery. I love this place for her! The nurses and assistants are kind and compassionate, the food is amazing and her care makes us feel good about leaving her at the end of the day. DONT HESITATE HERE!!
I had a great experience here Everyone was helpful and tried to help The food was unusually good I recommend this facility highly
Therapy team and nursing staff are wonderful and attentive to needs! Food was also delicious!
Therapy was great. Long wait times for pain medicines. Long wait time for personal care. Most staff seemed uncaring and unconcerned, although they are overworked and underpaid. The doctor was aggressive and rough and maybe a little revengeful. I would not recommend this facility.
Very Bad experience.
I've been working at Westport Health for two months now and i'm very pleased with my experience. The staff here is friendly, knowledgeable, and they provide excellent care to patient. My husband works here too! He works in the kitchen and has really good benefits. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a job in the healthcare field..
My mother was there for several days following a hospitalization. She routinely waited 30-45 minutes for someone to respond when she pressed her call button. On one occasion she needed help getting to the bathroom. 35 minutes after pressing her call button someone showed up, said she was not trained to assist her, and told her to just “go in the bed” and they would “clean it up later.” She later had to return to the hospital after a fall. No one ever called me or my father to check on her. After I reported these issues to a member of the sales team, no one in a supervisory role ever reached out to follow up. Based on our experience, I do not recommend this facility for rehab.
I give Westport Place ZERO stars. The "nursing" (I use the term nursing VERY loosely) is an absolute joke. They literally bring the patient's food and that's about it. IF you get your meds they are late then the staff argues with you about why it was late. If you want your loved one in a place where they don't get their routine medicines or even PRN pain meds, then this is the place for you! If you want your loved one in a place where the staff won't even help them bathe, then here you go! The therapy wasn't all that great either...not much more than one would get in home with Home Health PT. Yes, the facility is fairly new and nice, but who cares if your loved one is just left in a bed to fend for themselves when they obviously can't or they wouldn't be there in the first place! PLEASE don't leave your loved one here !!
Both of my wife’s grandparents rehabbed broken hips here 6-8 years ago and we had a great experience. Her grandmother needed to rehab again after a fall last month and it’s clear that Trilogy has let this location fall by the wayside since then. Rooms are dirty, air conditioning units don’t work (multiple units can obviously be seen to be leaking from the outside, staff has been notified and seemed aware but nothing done), furniture is in need of repair. While the staff have been pleasant and accommodating, it’s clear they are severely understaffed for their needs often only having one LPN (who from what we’ve observed are only there to dispense medicine and manage paperwork, not actually assist patients unless absolutely necessary) and one aide for a hallway of 16-20 people. Physical and Occupational therapists often have to step in and help patients as they’re bringing people to and from therapy. The staff all seem to care and want to do a good job but unfortunately you can only provide the level of care you have the amount of staff to provide. We will never return after this experience and will stop recommending friends and family to come here for any rehab needs.
My mom is 57, had 2 major spinal surgeries. Had to go back to the hospital and have an emergency 3rd surgery. She left Fraizer rehab and saw this place in the pamphlet they provide-with options for the patients to pick where they would like to stay, and that they feel best suits their rehab needs. She has to re-learn how to walk again. As soon as my mother got there she INSTANTLY WANTED TO LEAVE. Mind you, my mom is in a ton of pain and needs help to do almost everything.. she has always been considered a Fall Risk due to her having to learn how to re walk again. I told the RN she needs the bed rails so she can help pull herself up and not fall out when trying to get out of bed. She said ‘it’s weird in the rehab places bc they consider it a restraint’ so I had to sign a waiver for them to add them.. fine..I got checked in, and instantly as soon as I walked down her hallway it smelled like feces. The main areas look nice, but the rooms are very small, there was not enough room for the PT to properly get her transferred from her TINY HARD BED to the wheelchair. The physical therapist DID NOT EVEN LOCK THE WHEELCHAIR WHEN MY MOM WAS ABOUT TO SIT DOWN. The bathroom had some type of lock on it, I asked the CNA if that was normal, she said, “oh it’s just faulty!” She had to jiggle and mess with it for about a minute before I could get in to use the bathroom. They had a raised toilet cover with the handlebars and it’s so tiny, and the plastic was CRACKED FROM PRIOR PATIENTS USING, I COULD SMELL THE URINE ETC THAT SPILLED INSIDE OF THE CRACK. Total infection fest luckily we removed that so she could just use the normal toilet. If you expect speedy service to your call light- youbare in for a huge disappointment! One old woman in room 108 was crying “help me help me I need my pain medicine!!!” They clipped the call light to her so low that the poor woman didn’t even know where it was, no nurse was around- so I started to ask the doctor rushing down the opposite hall, he didn’t seem to care.. the RN came by right then and said “Oh she just shouts out all the time!” Her feet were the size of balloons!! Just avoid this place, all of these 5 star reviews are lies. Luckily she’s being moved to a better facility tomorrow where they have superb equipment to help her get strong and back on her feet so she can come home. What a nightmare -
I went to Westport Place Health Campus, then I went somewhere else, and finally I came back to Westport Place. The facility was modern, built within the last fifteen years, had lots of acreage, and you don't feel closed in. It had a liberal policy about "come as you go, when you want to go, and when you want to come back." Lots of rooms face the campus side rather than the road side, and it is set well off the road. There were lots of chairs, tables, porches, and places to be indoors, as well as a big rotunda, lots of easily accessible offices, and several dining rooms. On the more residential side, they had several dining rooms and a very nice menu. On the more short-term rehab side, there were spacious rooms, comfortable beds, lots of windows, which are important to me, not that great of a gym, pool tables, and private rooms where you can gather your people and come in. It seemed like they provide excellent nursing care.
Mom transferred here for rehab broken hip last night; hasn't been there 24 hours & already fell from bed & scrapped up arm. They are putting bedrails on her bed today. Seems to me if you knew she was high risk for falls, bedrails should have been installed as soon as she was admitted. Why wait until after she falls?? Last time she was here fell less than 24 hours of admission & broke hand which required surgery. Not impressed at all. And due to pandemic, no one allowed in facility to check on her.
Good place to work , highly recommend this place
Amazing Place!!
Extremely clean and well appointed facility with a very diligent and friendly staff. Such a welcoming and caring atmosphere, very thankful for the kind people I met here.
Exceptional! I highly recommend to anyone considering a short or long term stay.
My mother-in-law was in Westport Place. It was a nice facility with nursing care around the clock and nice rooms. Every second Sunday of the month, they have a brunch for the family, and my mother-in-law enjoyed it so much. They had wine and cheese on Fridays, and they would take residents out to various places, like doctor's appointments. The food was average.
Front and back off staff were very good with my dad during stays. On top of that, times were somewhat sensitive for family helping care for him. I thought through the whole process, the experience at Westport Health was the right place to be.
My mother is in Westport Place for her rehab. It is a very nice place. It is a smaller community, and they take good care of Mom. My mom likes the food, and that's a good thing. They have activities, but I do not know how much my mom has been involved with them because she spends several days of the week in the hospital as well. She is not as active and mobile as she likes to be because she has a pacemaker and several other health issues. The nursing staff does a good job when Mom has an issue there.
It's been over 60 days since my mother has been in Westport Place, and it was a very good experience. They took care of her very well. The rooms were very nice, and they were single rooms. The staff were very good, and they took care of her needs. She raved about the food. She didn't have the ability to go to most of the activities, but they had a lot. They had luau, they play cards, and they have crafts. They just need to improve on some of their nursing staff.
I have placed my wife at Westport, and we are pretty happy with it right now. It is close to where we live, and it would be easy for me to see my wife and bring her home if I want to. I am happy with the services, and I feel good with the staff. The place is superior and new. She tries to participate in everything that they have. They go out to restaurants, have movies, play bingo, and play other games, and she wishes that they had more, but they do a nice job about that. My wife is OK to live in assisted living, but she has some condition in which she cannot use her legs. She can’t get in and out of bed herself. She basically needs a 24hr a day attendant for things like going to the bathroom and going to bed.
