This place when resident lived there was awful. People there are very rude! The bosses do not work on the weekends. This Christmas there was one staff member working only. The resident said she was afraid to ask for plastic silverware because the kitchen would get mad. Upon first arrival there was a teenagers desk out in the middle if the halls. Papers everywhere on the desk and what kind of professional company would say that was inviting? They eventually built a new desk and made the fireplace somewhat match the patern of the desk but just because it looks nice doesn't mean the place itself is any good. Hurry and get your loved one out fast! Before long ago I was told by this resident that her neighbor left ne cause her daughter finally realized how bad the place was and so she took her out. I used to work at a senior living place...one of several.. and one of my residents came from there and daughter said it was awful and they couldn't get him out fast enough. They allow smoking outside and don't keep the residents busy enough to make them want to forget about that. Run fast and do not put your loved one here. I have never worked at a senior living where the bosses don't take turns on the weekends working. There is no bosses on the weekend period that work. They are home kicking their feet up. Some staff quit pretty fast. And for obvious reason. I wouldn't let my pet rat stay here. I believe a person living there will have a shorter life because there is nothing there to look forward to or keep their spirits up. As mentioned before a new desk in the hallway will not mean the place is good or even liveable. All the rooms are very small and old and depressing. This will all make someone have a shorter life because here at this location there is no encouragement shown to the reside ts and staff doesn't for obvious reasons stay very long. I always felt very bad for each resident we passed as we walked down the hallway. That was all they had to do so that is what kept them busy. It's a sad and depressing place which results in a shorter life for your loved one. Stay away! Run fast!!

I would recommend. We picked them because they were nice and new.

Forest Hills has been bought out by another company and many people have moved out for various reasons. A big complaint is the food and they said they needed to cut back. They have also cut back on workers and changed nursing. My mother in law also wants to move and we are not willing to start from the beginning again. Most of the people moved to the to the place in Mt Washington, where she was originally denied, because she need more care.

My sister moved to Forest Hills Commons. I think the people there are very sincere about taking care of seniors. The place is always nice and neat and clean. The food is good. We are a big family, so my sibs are very happy that she's close enough to us that we can go out there without a long haul around the city. The people there are very professional. The person there, I don't know if she's the director or whatever, but she is very charming. She is very connected to her workers and appears to be very kind and happy that people are there. They do have a lot of activities there. I know that they have people come in and play music. Sometimes when I get there, it's in the hallway, and the people are playing orchestral music and the pianos are being played, and it's lovely.

My loved one is currently a resident at Forest Hills Commons and everything has been quite acceptable so far. My loved one appreciates the food and the care that he receives, even though it has taken him awhile to get used to being there. The staff are all helpful and friendly, we enjoy chatting with them. I would recommend Forest Hills Commons to others.

Our family has had a great experience situating Dad into Forest Hills Commons. All the staff (everyone!) has been kind and caring with us. Dad is gregarious and has had so much fun at the activities, the dining room and interacting with his carers. The food is delicious, varied and nutritious. We do love that the chefs come out to the tables to chat with the residents. The activities are well thought out, whether at or away from the facility with bus transportation, and dad particularly enjoys the musicians. As a family who wants to see Dad getting living his best life, we feel that we have struck gold! Thank you to everyone at FHC.

My Pa recently passed away. I knew he meant a lot to many people. Today was his funeral. As people said their final goodbyes, I saw residents from Forest Hills. My heart bursted and I cried hard. To hear them say they would miss him, tore me to pieces. They lost a friend. My Pa had friends there. I know he had mixed feelings, but he enjoyed being at Forest Hills. They were good to him. For that, I'm forever grateful. Thank you for taking care of my Pa.

The only reason I didn't give a 5 is that they are still short on staffing. The staff they have are amazing. They do for mom what we no longer were able to do. They are knowledgeable about her condition. Most importantly they love her. Marie spends her own money to create an amazing atmosphere. They all go above and beyond for nit only the residents but their families as well.

My father is in the Memory Care Unit. This is where he needs to be. They are wonderful to him and he really loves the staff, especially Essie and Marie.

Unspecified · March 2023

I teach a monthly Bible study there and the residents always seem happy!

Unspecified · March 2023

My mom has been a resident at Forest Hills Commons for almost 2 years. She lives in the Memory Care Community and has thrived. The staff in Memory Care truly care about their residents. They have special events, live music, arts & crafts and decorate the memory care unit for every single occasion. The Director of Nursing and staff spend a lot of time making these residents feel special. I am truly grateful. Shannon

Forest Hills Commons was nice and new. It had the same offer as the other place, but it was a little classier. They have a nurse on staff, even in memory care. They had a nice little courtyard to sit and they had a nice size room and you could get various types of rooms. They seemed to be fully staffed and had nice things. They offered different levels of care. They had a nice little common area where they do activities, but I didn't see too many people in the building. The rooms seemed to be well lit and some of them even had refrigerators and different things in the rooms, this is still in the memory care if that's what you choose.

Acquaintance · November 2022

I would give Forest Commons a 5 in all categories. I am very particular, and my tour went very well and all questions I had were answered. From there forward, they made everything easy and my Mother is very happy there. They have fun activities such as Bingo, Movie night in the home theater (including popcorn) people that come in and play music and sing. Fun field trips are also made. A doctor comes once a week and a nurse is present 24/7. Transportation is also provided for personal doctor appointments. Medications can be given by a nurse if needed. This facility is extremely clean. Your laundry is done for you, once a week . Linens are changed and your room is cleaned over per week. Physical Therapy is also-present in the facility if needed. They also have a nice library, arts and crafts and puzzles. My thought was when I began this journey, I would not place my mother-in-law in a place I would not live in myself.

Very nice place and friendly staff! I love coming here in the morning!!

Acquaintance · November 2022

Everyone is friendly, and the amount of people that remember my Dad's name is amazing. He hasn't been here long and the staff know him and call him by his name.

Acquaintance · September 2022

We gave Forest Hills overall a 3 because they are short staffed, but we do understand it is like that everywhere. The communication with the director [name removed] has been great, we have even seen her a few times step into the kitchen and help out. The dining staff is extremely short - sometimes the residents have to wait long periods just to get into the cafeteria, but they are actively working on the issue. The communication with the nursing team is great, anytime we call with questions or concerns they are right there to answer, and if not we get a call back within 15-20 minutes. They do have a very good physical therapist and speech therapist so the medical side of things has been awesome and overall we are happy with Forest Hills.

Acquaintance · September 2022

Other than some of the staffing shortages they are having, they have been just great. I would recommend Forest Hills Commons to others looking.

Memory Care is a special place with special residents. My Dad is a resident and bless his heart he can be a bit difficult at times and needing a lot of care. Forest Hills Commons has given him the care and attention that he requires. The staff does this with a very caring attitude and a genuine consistency on a daily basis. I believe this goal is met due to the head nurse’s example. She cares for these residents as if they are family to her. She spends countless hours seeing that the needs are met for each resident.

Unspecified · June 2022

My mother is a resident in the memory care unit at Forest Hills Commons. I could not be any more pleased with the care that she receives there and I have the utmost trust and confidence in Marie and her team as well as the caregivers. It's really hard when you can no longer provide all the care by yourself that your loved one needs. Marie and her staff have been very patient and understanding with all my worries and concerns. Most importantly my mother is safe and cared for in a loving and nurturing environment.

Unspecified · June 2022

Our experience with Forest Hills Commons has been very positive. The staff, from the Executive Director to the care staff have always been kind, friendly and responsive. The building is beautiful, clean and well kept. Thank you for taking such good care of our Mom.

Visitor · March 2022

This was a lovely and very nice community. The tour was great also and got all the information I needed in regards to the community.

Resident · March 2022

Forest Hills community is a lovely place, they keep the facility spotless. It is nicely decorated without being overbearing. The residents really seem to enjoy life here, and we are constantly getting new residents all the time. The staff is vey caring and there is a good relationship between the staff and residents. The staff are always greeting us and calling us by our first name. The day to day food is about average but the special meals our outstanding. The special meals include lobster, and prime rib. For Mardi Gras we had a big holiday dinner it was just outrageous. I find this place to be very comfortable and would recommend to others coming here and giving it a shot.

Unspecified · January 2022

RUN from this place don't walk. They don't want to help your loved one, if they need any help at all look somewhere else. The management here does what they want with no regard for your family. They grossly overcharged my mother on her assessment. They gave her enough points to put her at a level 5 and when I asked to see her assessment there were quite a few charges for things she's not getting or doesn't need help with. Before you commit to bringing your loved one here you make absolutely certain that you check the assessment to see what they're charging. I'm currently working with the corporate office to get the charges removed and get her reimbursed for the last six months they've been charging her. Update: Well, apparently corporate doesn't care any more than management. I called the "hot line" and so did my brother, he requested a personal phone call with the corporate office and nobody ever returned his call. My mother had to go to the hospital in Sept. and they told her she couldn't come back unless she went to PT. She went for 6 weeks and her therapist said she was doing great. My brother picked her up to take her back to Forest Hills and they came running outside to tell him she's no longer allowed on the premises even though she paid for the whole month of October. They didn't allow her to come in and get any of her personal belongings or say good bye to her friends. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!!

Visitor · November 2021

We walked in and were immediately overwhelmed by how big the facility was, I was nervous dad was going to get lost. It is a gorgeous place but it is pricey. The person interviewing us was brand new and did not know how to answer my questions.

Unspecified · October 2021

It is one of the top two that we like among those we toured. It's very clean and it's very nice, and they were extremely nice. We looked at the facility; the rate was where we wanted it to be. And it was a very nice room, and they gave off a lot of things and activities. I think the number one thing was they have a nurse on each floor, 24-7, which was a benefit for us right now at this stage. My mother-in-law just needs someone to come in and bring her medicine, and so they do that. But they also made us feel at ease knowing that they had security there. So if something came up or something happened, somebody was there. The residents, they have a doctor and a nurse practitioner that comes in once a week, and that helps us that they come instead of us going to them. Also, they have transportation where you can sign up to go shopping or to go to the store to pick up food and stuff. So that makes it nice that they have the transportation there for their residents. They have courtyards, and it made it extremely nice, they have physical therapy, and they can work out. So it gave us a lot of options with her and we just felt really good about it.

Been to many places in the area, and Forest Hills is at the top of the list. From the staff that is always smiling and makes you feel welcomed, the residents that are one big family, and the food that gives you comfort during every meal. I'm very happy I chose to be apart of the family here

Unspecified · October 2021

There are so many wonderful things to say about Forest Hill Commons where do I even begin! I work as a community liaison for a geriatric psych facility and when I was given the opportunity to tour Forest Hill Commons-I was just blown away. The facility is absolutely beautiful with so much charm and added amenities for their residents that just can’t be beat. The staff is friendly, helpful and do such an amazing job engaging with the residents that live there. The rooms vary and size and let me tell you…I would love to stay in any of them!! Alexandra “Alli” matches the charm and friendliness of this facility. She makes you feel so welcomed whether you’re just staying for a tour or to live there. It’s truly an amazing place.

It was all bedrooms, for the most part. We were impressed with them because it seemed like they were more guest-compatible. Like if we had somebody come in, they had room for us to entertain people in. I like a lot of things about it. The apartments were roomier. Most of them (or all of them), were 2-bedrooms, and several of them had 2-baths as well. The rooms were small, of course, but that's to be expected in a place like that. They had several common areas that you could actually reserve for you to entertain (like if I wanted to have a men's group from church come in, I could reserve a space for that). If we wanted to have a family get together, there was a place we could do that. So I was pretty impressed with that. The staff was very helpful. I only met with the person that took me around. She answered all my questions and was helpful.

Acquaintance · April 2021

My loved ones left after a short stay. The communication were responsive when I needed something. I hope the food service has improved, cleaning, and laundry services have improved in the last year-and-a-half, as well.

I went there. We liked it. It was really nice. The rooms were nice. They had a nice size bathroom. The living area was nice. It was just all really nice. The staff members were very nice. Everyone was very pleasant.

Acquaintance · November 2020

Forest Hills community was very good and we never saw anything dirty. Overall we liked this community, they were all very nice. Our loved one loved the staff members on the memory care side, they were very good to her.

Acquaintance · September 2020

Great place. Our dad was apprehensive to move, especially from out of state. He looked at and picked FHC, but was still unsure. He agreed to a 6-month trial. After 3 months, he announced he was "not going back." Great staff and facility.

Acquaintance · July 2020

The personal care gives a lot of freedom to the residents. The meals are wonderful. It is a good fit for the folks that are higher functioning. They have a lot of Independent folk there. The room sizes are very nice. Memory care is a much smaller area and has more intense care.

Acquaintance · February 2020

We have been very pleased with the care and people at Forest Hills Commons. The people are very friendly and helpful and made the transition very easy. They have addressed any needs we have had very well.

Unspecified · February 2020

It was a nice facility. The staff during the tour was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were pretty nice, very accommodating, and adequate. Everything seemed to be in good order. There was an outdoor courtyard, a recreational space for families visiting, and a movie room. It's worth a visit to see what they offer.

Unspecified · November 2019

Most all of these reviews are obviously phony, Because they basically sound alike with the same wording with the same words just moved around...wonderful, caring...etc. and almost all Surprisingly the same length! Don't believe it!

Unspecified · June 2018

My friend moved in. We chose it because it was close, the price was right, the rooms were large, and it just felt like it was the right fit for us. The staff was helpful. They have restaurant dining, and there's fresh fruit and vegetables. I have lunch with her on a regular basis and the food is good. They have an exercise room, an activities room, they have a movie and theater room, they have a 24/7 nurse, and all that is very comforting. It's fairly new, clean, two stories, and everything was marked. They have a very active group of seniors.
