Reviews
for Richmond Place
I found what I was looking for.
As in all places have some really good and caring staff and just there for paycheck. The campus stuck out over other places.
This review is for Richmond Place Memory Care- poor communication among staff and to us as we tried to navigate this with our mom. Although the activities and activities staff were good, many other staff seemed overwhelmed or in a rush many times, to the point of being a safety issue. Turnover was very high. Mom declined rapidly at this location. We moved her recently, thank goodness, and she has improved since then. We reached out to Silver Lexington for help in our search for a new place, and we are so glad we did. They were extremely helpful. One lesson also learned- if you are looking for Memory Care for your parent, find a place with a designated manager just for memory care to ensure more attention to detail.
Our mom was in the Memory Care building for approximately 5 months. It became very clear that the emphasis was on convenience to the staff and not care. While there are several good caregivers and activity leaders there, the staff was generally inconsistent, seemed overwhelmed, and not to informed about moms needs. She went from being able to walk with a walker to sitting in a wheelchair most days. We did have several meetings and communicated our concerns with the management, but very little changed. After moving her to a more resident-focused facility, she was brighter and walking with a walker within two weeks. The improvement was remarkable. We are so glad we made the move.
The staff is dedicated and friendly to everyone. Richmond Place (Reflection Building) is light and clean, the meals are appetizing and full of daily activities for everyone. I am grateful for the good care my love one receives.
I volunteered at Richmond Place through my church. The staff and residents were so welcoming to us. We’re so excited about volunteering again in May!
Richmond Place is such a beautiful place. My mother in law enjoyed her days there and the staff activity coordinator. I would Highly Recommend.
I run my own small moving business, A-1 Affordable Mover, and I have worked with this community on a regular basis for the past five years. The staff has great communication, and the residents are the friendliest people you've ever met. Big thanks to Keanu, Scott, Britney, Ricky, and all the other people who are always good to me when I come through. You know your family is in good hands with them.
My grandmother has lived at Richmond Place for just over a year now, and she couldn't be happier. The staff really go out of their way to make life easy for their residents. From Step 1 of planning the move-in, all the way until now, the staff has been all hands on deck every step of the way. Grandma has made a ton of new friends, and everyday she's doing a different activity. As someone who lives three hours out of Lexington, it makes my day a lot easier knowing she's in good hands.
This is my second time to move to Richmond Place and I couldn’t ask for a better experience! Everybody was welcoming and gracious. One of the really positive experiences was the attention given by Keanu Jones. He was ever-present in getting the logistical processes handled. He followed up personally and to top it all presented me with a welcome bag that was a pleasant surprise! The maintenance staff also was engaged in getting me set up and into my new home and provided a positive experience . I appreciate all the interaction of the family environment that I feel at Richmond Place. No better Welcome Home could have been had!
Richmond place is such a beautiful place. My mother-in-law enjoy her days there the staff activity coordinator such a wonderful facility such a beautiful place. I definitely recommend people to send their loved ones there.
Richmond Place has been such a great community to work with, for both myself and my clients. I would recommend this facility to anybody looking for the right new home for their mom and dad. Tons of fun to be had and new friends to make. Special thanks to the Sales Team and their fast communication!
I'm happy and the staff is wonderful. I'm very grateful to have rides to the doctor, that is very important to me. The people that live here are very nice.
I feel relieved knowing that my great aunt is being looked after by the staff in Woodford. Special shoutout to Melissa for always being prompt in responding to my great aunts needs.
My mom came to live at Richmond Place ten years ago. During that time she has progressed through the various stages of aging in this wonderful retirement community. Her experience began in the independent living building "up on the hill" in 2015 at the age of 86. We are thankful that she has been able to remain in this familiar and friendly environment as her needs have changed. She is happy and content and I'm at peace knowing that she is provided with attentive and compassionate care.
My mother has been a long-time resident in the personal care building. The staff are very kind and have helped her through many challenges as her disease has progressed. Great communication between staff and families. There are many activities for residents to enjoy and a shuttle service to the grocery. Drop off services to minor doctor appointments and an in-house beauty salon are very helpful.
I really enjoyed the community when I toured the facility for my grandmother. The staff was very nice and informative.
I recently toured RP for my dad and I just can’t put into words how friendly the staff and residents were! Looking forward to moving in soon !
Talk about service!!! I’m in awe of the Life Enrichment Team at Richmond Place. My grandmother has lived in all three levels of care and the two things that are consistent is the quality of care and the huge array of activities offered. We love Richmond Place.
Our family looked at several senior communities in Lexington before we made one of the best decisions ever and that was to place my grandfather at Richmond Place. The staff had been so helpful over the years! I don’t know what we would’ve done without Scott, April, and the entire care staff. They truly are gems!
My mom’s favorite cousin is in the Woodford building and she loves it there! Our family is so pleased with her care and we recommend for OUTSTANDING care of your loved ones! Thank you to all of those who work so hard each day!
My aunt who is in the Woodford building received extraordinary care. Keep up the great staff & faculty!
I love Richmond Place’s Ambassador Department. I love getting to know a variety of residents in our different levels of care!
If you’re looking for a senior community for your loved one Richmond Place is the perfect place. Our residents and staff are one of a kind!
I love Richmond place. We have a wonderful dining room and so many amenities and activities. The facility and the grounds are lovely. The staff is excellent and very responsive to my needs!!! It was the only spot I looked at and I couldn’t be happier I picked it!! Continue the great work!! I’m proud to say I live here!!!
The first on my list is Richmond Place. It's nice. It's more a feel of being in an apartment building than it is being in an old folks' home. The apartments that are available are bigger than any other place. They have a pool, but it's outside. It's well run. They have all the services, assisted living levels, and all of that. They gave me a pastry in a little box when I left. They have a great computer system for their schedules. They have a very nice selection of apartments. It's built around six acres and they have a nice place for the cars. I can bring my pet. They have a pet park, and they have raised garden beds. They have a lot of activities, and they have one fabulous craft room. They have a whole different kind of a food plan. You get 500 points every month. When you go to the restaurant, everything on the menu has certain points. The 500 points are built around being able to have two meals a day, but most people manage it to be three meals a day, and the points don't roll over to the next month. What they do if they have leftover points is they go to the coffee shop and stock up on supplies. The staff was the most attentive, talked to me for the longest time, showed me everything, and answered all my questions. They had great salespeople.
My sister lived in Richmond Place. There's constantly something to do and something to eat. It's a very family-oriented, all-around facility. There's nothing you can't get done there. It's a very nice facility. The staff couldn't be any nicer. The food was wonderful. They have a swimming pool. Whatever you want to do, you can find in the facility. You can find a project to do there no matter what. After you take the tour, you will definitely choose Richmond Place.
The staff are lazy and indifferent to residents. Some of them are just plain mean.
Richmond Place is a warm and inviting! The staff and the residents are friendly and helpful especially with a new resident like my mother. The food is good. There are many offerings for socializing including a wonderful Vesper service. The campus is beautiful and the apartments are roomy and comfortable.
My mother has had a wonderful move-in experience with Richmond Place. All the staff have been so kind and gracious. The residents seem happy and friendly. The campus is beautiful! The apartment is roomy, comfortable and attractive. There are many offerings for socializing. The food is excellent as well.
In the many places I have lived or worked, Davina is far and above the most necessary assistant I have known. She does EVERYTHING with a SMILE and when you ask. There is none of this " I'll get to it when I can" or"this needs to be done by the household staff. " She belongs at the top.
I wish to comment on our chef, Jake. He has brought a fresh and delightful approach to the dining at Richmond Place. His food is delicious and is prepared with care. He has opened the Paddock Cafe which is an extension of the dining room. The cafe provides us with a choice of foods. He appears in the dining room and cafe to check on how the residents are feeling about the choice of foods. His personality is adjustable to the problems of all residents. He will help to solve the problems of all residents. He is a great asset for Richmond Place!
Richmond Place was my first tour to find an Independent living place for my 86 year old Mom. Immediately, I knew this was home! I put a deposit down and cancelled my 3 other tours. It was perfect! Welcoming. Safe. Caring. Friendly. Clean. Loving. Helpful. The facility, staff, food, activities and 6 acre yard was amazing. It’s nice to have Mom close, safe and happy!
Staff are kind and courteous to all of us residents.
Richmond Place, as a facility has exceeded expectations. They worked with my mother to establish a price point that was within her means, and offered incentives and bonuses in the negotiation process. The facility is light, airy, clean, and well run. Safety is a premium, with many handrails and no steps. There are emergency pull cords in every room and the food has exceeded my mother‘s expectations. The courtyard is beautiful and the entire facility seems well run. The only downside that I have noted to date is that it is just a very large facility. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but take some getting used to adjust to a facility of that size. I understand that the facility has been sold to another corporation, and we are hoping that the new owners are as diligent as the owners clearly are.
I have been living at Richmond Place for almost three months. I have a 2 bedroom apartment in independent living. I like my apartment very much. I am involved in some of the many activities here and have found them to be a good way to make friends. The staff here are very kind and very willing to help you with anything you might need. The food here is very good and there is a good variety of foods served. I feel the cost to live here is comparable to other facilities and I feel it is reasonable.
We definitely picked the retirement place that suits us best. Very happy with Richmond Place senior living.
It's a very active environment, light and bright, lots to do, lots of socialization, always busy. Staff always seem happy and helpful. They have a great outdoor area with walking path. Her apartment is very nice and larger than others we looked at. Other places we looked at were not like that.
We chose Richmond Place because we liked the looks of the facility. Staff is like all others, some good and reliable, some not so much. Mom has had money and jewelry stolen from room.
Richmond Place only had two units for us to look at, and they had not been turned over. In other words, they hadn't been cleaned or painted or anything. The staff was very nice. Everything was very nice and clean. We have been invited out for dinner, so we intend to follow up with that.
Richmond Place Senior Living has been a wonderful place for my grandmother. She started in Independent Living and was recently moved to Personal Care; the staff is attentive and always goes the extra mile to ensure she is comfortable and happy. The activities are engaging, and the environment is warm and welcoming.
Right from the beginning, Richmond Place Senior Living has offered a welcoming and warm environment. We met with [name removed] the day after our inquiry and immediately knew we didn't need to look at other communities; they were exactly what we sought. The staff is unfailingly kind and helpful. My mother feels safe and happy here; we are indeed very pleased with our choice.
I toured Richmond Place. I like the six acres of green space. It's fantastic. It was all very nice. They have refrigerators and two bedrooms have a full kitchen. Everybody was friendly. They were very helpful.
My mother is still at Richmond Place. It is very pretty, clean, and very nice. The staff is great, very helpful, and very nice. The people that clean are very nice. The repair people are nice, very friendly, and very helpful. They have stuff every day. You can get into card games. They have parties. They had a Mother's Day tea. They did something special for Father's Day. Some people play games in their rooms. They have chair yoga. You get a sheet of paper daily of what is available to do. The food is good. She has a few things that she does not like. They also have a cafe that's open Wednesday through Sunday, and they have a menu there. It's made fresh. Sometimes it takes them a little bit if they're busy. I had eaten in the cafe. The other day I went to mom's and she was down eating lunch and had a taco salad. It was wonderful. They offer two separate meals, but if you don't like that, there's a list of things that you can get besides that every day, like grilled chicken sandwich, hamburger, turkey burger, and grilled cheese. My mom is enjoying it there. We were just looking for something a little cheaper. They raise the rent every year, and her rent went up over $300 for a year. I think that's a lot. If you're staying, it keeps going up, but it is a great place. Her apartment is very nice.
I have always liked Richmond Place. I have been here at least 8 years. All the people that I met here have been nice, as well as all the people who work here. And when I talk to residents who are here, they have the same responses. Very nice folks, very helpful. They have quite a bit of patience too, always willing to help me with my cell phone!
First off, I have always been a person who enjoys interacting with other people, so I get plenty of that here. Secondly, I like it because I tend to enjoy food. I eat in the dining room everyday. There's a lot of reasons I like it here, I'm just a positive person. I have family around here too, which is always important.
I have a nice apartment, the people are friendly, and the staff is friendly too. I am 97 years old and I'm sort of getting close to the end of my days, so I appreciate how nice this place is and how nice they are to me.
You will quickly come to feel comfortable around here. It's a wonderful thing that people are encouraged to talk to each other and introduce themselves. The employees are like this as well. Not all days are perfect, but the lovable people makes up for it.
I think it's great, there's so much to do. I love getting out with my dog, she enjoys getting out when it's not too hot. Sometimes we'll do a shorter walk and come indoors, [name removed] at the front desk is always so kind and gives her a treat. I love all the activities that are planned, especially on the courtyard. The food is great, some days I come and eat it and some days I make my own food. Wednesday night is always the [name removed], so I never miss it. Tonight, we're having Supreme Pizza and Chicken Fajitas, so I won't miss it. The housekeepers are great and always willing to come and clean up after me. [name removed] is always very kind. I've been here living a while now and I still have boxes and items to get arranged, and housekeeping is always patient with me. I have an old neighbor moving here soon, so it's almost like I never left that street at all. I'm happy to be living here.
I feel very safe and secure. I feel like there's more to offer than I'm taking advantage of, simply because I've been on a road to recovery since arriving. I hope to become more involved soon as I am feeling much better recently. It's a nice clean environment and everybody has been so nice too, everyone has been lovely.
