Reviews
for Springfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
Springfield Nursing and Rehab has been amazing to our family member who is a resident there. From our first experience with them, they were caring, supportive, and readily available to answer any questions or provide assistance to anything we needed. The staff is friendly and caring. They are dedicated to providing the best possible care for the residents. I have been so impressed with all of the wonderful activities that are offered. This has made such a difference in enabling each resident an increased quality of life. I have witnessed first-hand the joy and engagement of the residents as they take part in all of the fun activities that are so well-planned. My family member often tells me that everyone is very kind and helpful. This is so comforting to know that he is cared for and safe in a friendly environment. My family is so thankful to have Springfield Nursing and Rehab to care for our family member.
My mom is a patient there and really likes it,the staff take really good care of her, they are always friendly,Denise the activities director always has good ideas and fun things for the residents to do
Great place to send your loved ones, great workers.
Come on by and do some front porch sitting and enjoy the simple things in life. The staff is so kind and compassionate and truly try to make a difference every day. A small town feel where the residents become like family.
Springfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center staff are professional, knowledgeable, dedicated and extremely caring. The care they provide goes well beyond to make and promote a family feel. I am very proud of the achievements and continuous desire to remain the best in Kentucky.
Family oriented, staff is dedicated to providing care for resident just like they are family. Recommend for the Love shown to staff, residents and families.
I have been here for 29 years and we have the friendliest staff and happy residents who have good rapport with each other. The staff provide needs of the residents to make their environment comfortable for them.
You can't judge a book by its cover. The facility might not look like the Hilton but the staff genuinely care about the Residents. They make it more like a cozy home instead of just a building. Activities work to keep each resident involved and ensure they have the ability to interact with other residents. From carnivals to bingo and concerts the residents seem to always have a blast. Therapy is AMAZING and have helped so many regain mobility after medical conditions had left them immobile.
Love being part of Springfield. Caring people that are dedicated to caring for people in their greatest need. Excellent care and compassion.
Best Therapy Department!!
THE ONLY REASON IT GOT 1 STAR IS BECAUSE I CANT GIVE IT FREAKING ZERO! Worst damn place there ever was. Woman in the hall is playing with her own FECES. My granny had to come to this pure hell because she had surgery and it was close to us. Well, first they don't have air conditioning in the damn room. Waiting all day for a fan in 91 degree heat outside. The TV is sitting in the window seal but facing the the wall so she can't hardly see it. No remote. We had to jack the one next door. Oh get this.....THEY DONT HAVE HER PAIN MEDICATION. AND SHE LITERALLY JUST HAD SURGERY!!!!! She's not gotten anything for pain all day here. They don't work to fast round here anyways. She got peas and cold fries for dinner. Thats it. Nothing else. Smells so bad of urine in the entire place. The chic upfront couldn't possibly be any more rude. They didn't even have WATER IN HER ROOM. NOTHING TO DRINK WAS BROUGHT UNTIL WE ASKED! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT TF DOWN! ITS NASTY, ITS WHERE YOUR LOVED ONE GOES TO DIE. NOT TO REHABILITATE. FKN RIDICULOUS! NEGATIVE 100 STARS. Places like this go for profit. Stick as many as they can with as little help as they can get by with. There's something that needs to be done! They shouldn't be allowed to take care of dogs, much less people who need the most help. I'll do my best to make sure something gets done. Bet that. Do not send your loved on here. You'll regret it.
If your loved one is not able to at least walk or do some things for themselves DO NOT send them here! Unfortunately we were not strong enough to take care of my brother at home cause he couldn't walk and we don't have the kind of money it takes for home care. He went there for palative care and they literally did as little as possible for him. I took a leave from work to spend as much time as I could with him (which ended up being 3 weeks before he passed) so I went up there every day. One day before I left he wanted a breathing treatment so I found his nurse and she said she'd take care of it, she found the machine and brought it in and was going to get the meds that go in it when I left however when I got there the next day it was sitting there just as it was the day before and he told me he never got it! I went straight to the nurses station and she said yea she ( the nurse from the day before) forgets stuff all the time and that nurse got in there and took care of it. He also couldn't eat and when he asked for food, once for strawberries and once for a hamburger I was told I could not bring outside food in and she didn't have any suggestions for maybe getting something blended from the kitchen all they offered him was protein drinks and water or juice. I could kick myself for not sneaking it in,the man was dying and couldn't even get what he actually asked for. That same nurse also told me he was killing himself by refusing to try to drink thise drinks and I said well that big tumor is pushing on his stomach so he doesn't want to eat most of the time and she said oh when did they find that! She seemed to have no clue that he was dying from cancer! He also fell a couple of times trying to get out of bed and they were good to call even in the middle of the night but the day he died we didn't get up there until the afternoon and we came into the room with him on a ventilator, eyes wide open, pupils already blown and he was cold.....they never called to tell us to get up there so we could be there with him. I found the nurse and she pronounced him dead shortly after. Before I left I was brushing his hair and his beard and tried closing his eyes and she came in and said its ok you don't have to do that we will clean him up and get him ready. When they brought him to the funeral home my Mom and I went to see him and he was exactly how we left him,his mouth was wide open and eye's still slightly open cause I couldn't close them all the way! My Mom who is 88 years old was completely crushed cause it was obvious they didn't do anything to clean him up. Bottom line is unless you are going to be very present or your loved one is somewhat mobile I would try my hardest to keep them out of there!!
Most of the local Nursestat girls were ALWAYS late. They are still coming into the building and pushing facility staff around. One of them decided to enter the facility and sit down at the nurse desk to eat Taco Bell instead of getting report. When she finally got report, I heard her complaining that the girl did not change someone when she did and had been waiting almost an hour for someone to show up and get report. When the girl tried to do what everyone else does to her and leaves when her shift is over after giving report, she is bombarded by yelling and cussing and people telling her to do her job like everyone else. These people are still around and when I asked where this girl went, I’m told she got fired because she couldn’t perform her job. This girl was really sweet. She didn’t deserve to be treated like that. Someone was always screaming her name.
Difficult to reach; frustrating to gather information from residents who need advocate. Refuses to provide proper support to its residents in navigating their various options...Medicaid etc.
A great facility full of compassionate, knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond!
Springfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is an asset to the community. They go above and beyond to provide a fun and caring living environment for their residents.
