Reviews
for Liberty Ridge Senior Living
Went there nothing was done the director don’t know what she’s doing unprofessional!! The maintenance guy don’t do no work as far as i seen, i even watched him walk his dog on company hours and it worries me about other people safety especially if its a Pitbull!
The food is really good most of the time and the staff is super friendly. Im happy with our choice to put them at liberty ridge.
I moved my mom to Liberty Ridge and it was the best decision I could have made for her, they were wonderful. It was a life saver for her and me. I can't begin to tell you how good they were with my Mom. The administration to the staff were hands down the best. My mom was cared for, she was loved and they treated her like the boss my Mom was in life before dementia sad. I loved how it was small, only 12 residents in MC. They all had private rooms. My Mom was happy, she felt safe and was very well cared for by sweet and loving caregivers.
Would have been nice if I had been notified of the change in ownership only my brother out of state was notified. With the staff changes since ownership change, I have noticed a lack of communication in some areas and services not the same as when my mom first moved in. I have been thinking about moving her even though she wouldn't like it.
My mom in law spent the last two years living here in assisted living and I don't have anything but positive things to say. Staff went out of their way to help her feel a part of the community, other residents were so kind, and the activities kept her engaged. Great experience!
Liberty Ridge has been a wonderful facility for my mom the past 6 years. Mom has been treated with the love and dignity she deserves. The important thing is she feels loved by staff.
After looking at many places in Lexington, we chose Liberty Ridge for Mom because it seemed more like home and less like a “facility”. There has not been one day that we’ve regretted our choice! She was in assisted living and now in memory care. The level of care and the compassion and love from the staff is second to none. They are family to her (and us as well). It it clean, well run and the food is good! So grateful that she can be in a safe and loving environment!
We toured Liberty Ridge at the request of a family member who was interested in living there. The admission director was incredibly polite, kind, knowledgeable and transparent. Unfortunately, our family member did not qualify for the level of care they offer. We did find the facility to be clean, clients seemed to be well-taken care of, and many activities were offered. Would highly recommend you look at this facility when searching for care of family member
I didn't care too much for Liberty Ridge Senior Living Community because it was a lot older, so the rooms looked outdated. As far as the staff, everything is good. I don't care too much about it being two floors. They have an exercise area and a dining area. And I think they do the activity in the dining area. Cleanliness was fine. That was nice. It's very small, it's quaint. I had no problems getting in and out of the facility and stuff like that, but I'm most concerned that most of it was outdated.
We've decided to keep my mom at Liberty Ridge and just move her to a smaller room that was more affordable for her. We love it there so much. The staff is wonderful - the administration, the director, and everyone. We've been pleased. My mother moved up to assisted living, and she's been in a 1-bedroom apartment for probably eight years. I just recently moved her to a smaller room. Her room is beautiful. It's very light. The view is pretty, and I just had all good things to say. They have an activity director named Sarah, who's fabulous. She's got a lot to do for them. Like when I left, they were watching a movie in their movie room. There are exercise classes multiple days a week. There are movies, going out to dinner, grocery shopping, Dollar Tree shopping, and there's bingo all the time. There are activities in the building, and there are a lot of activities outside of the building, too. Their food is good. We eat there together sometimes. They do have a dining room where all of the residents dine together at different tables. If you're having a family come in and eat with you, there's a little private dining area with French doors that you can close off to make it more quiet and intimate. We looked around at other places and this just suits us. It's very cozy and very homey. The residents and the staff are very family-like. It's a perfect place for us. My mother gets excellent care. The care means more to me than the places that have crystal chandeliers and granite fireplaces. It's more like the place where you live. It's very clean. There's a beautiful little garden. There are benches out front. It's on a 38-acre property and it was originally the Mission Church. So, there's a lot of green space around it. There's green space in front of it. There are cottages around it. You can sit out front on the benches or you can sit out back. There's a flower garden. Some of the residents grow their own vegetables in the raised gardens. There are lots of trees, and it's very pretty. I've spent the last month or so researching different places. And certainly, we're staying here because, for the money, it's absolutely the best deal going.
Everybody at Liberty Ridge was professional. It's very neat and had a nice environment. I didn't particularly care for the layout of a couple of the rooms, but other than that, they looked nice. They're not very big, but they would serve the purpose if that's what you're trying to find. There were exercise classes and all kinds of stuff. They had a whole bulletin board that was full of stuff. Everything was clean and organized. It was perfect. They have a barbershop, salons, and exercise rooms with physical therapists.
We placed our name on the waiting list for Liberty Ridge. They were very nice, took time to answer our questions and talk and explain what they had. Then we went and she showed us one of the garden homes. That's what we are wanting right now, a garden home. My husband is not well, but he's not needing assistance all the time. That's what we liked about the garden home, that we would have our independence, but then if we needed help, they would be there, and then later on something else. The garden home was nice, or what would fit our needs. There were no steps. It's two bedrooms, two baths, and a kitchen. And we liked the sunroom and they had a little patio. And it just seemed like a good place that we think that we would like to be. The only downside would be it's going to take a little while to come up to our turn because she said, the ones that were moving in, had been on the list for a year and a half. They have appliances, and they have the washer and dryer, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, whatever you need, it's there. The staff was very nice. She knew what she was talking about, she was well informed or knew about the facility, and she was good. I don't didn't have any complaints or anything about that. And, all the time, we didn't seem rushed and we could look around and especially in the garden home. When she was talking to us, all her time was with us. So that was good. They have a lot of activities, and plans during the day if you want to participate. It sounds good.
My mother-in-law moved in at Liberty Ridge around the first week of October. They were very kind, helpful, and supportive. My mother-in-law is in a 1-bedroom apartment and I thought it was nice. She felt very welcome there. They have a nice lobby with couches where the residents would congregate. They have a big dining area with lots of windows, and off of that is a very nice courtyard. One thing that drew us to that place is that it's not a very large community. And because my mother-in-law can't see well, she feels more comfortable moving around. I've tried their food and I liked it. I think the food is very good. They have a lot of activities. They have exercise classes, Bible classes, movies, entertainment, and sing-alongs, and they go out to lunch sometimes. They have a beauty salon, an exercise room, a physical therapy room, and an area with books and puzzles. The staff there is great. Mom has to have these light bulbs and they got that for her. She has to have the remote control for the heat thing and they got those. The place is very clean, welcoming, and inviting. There are cottages all around it for independent living and they are just beautiful. The landscaping is pretty. There's a pond in front of the building. It's kind of like being in the country but you're not. It's very pretty.
Liberty Ridge seemed to be a really good place as far as being able to get around. Their prices were very good because they are a church-supported and non-profit facility. The residents there seemed very friendly. The staff that took us around was friendly and informative. The rooms were furnished, with a microwave and a small refrigerator. All meals were included, too. They don't have any cooking appliances in the memory care part. We also saw a courtyard there.
I toured Liberty Ridge and it was very nice when I went there. The staff was very knowledgeable and very informative. It's a beautiful location. I went into the dining area and the main area, and they had a gorgeous sunroom. I didn't have a meal there, but I had coffee. It's a gorgeous community.
Our loved one really liked the community when we first visited and it was ultimately her decision.
Liberty Ridge was a smaller community. It's very well cared for. I found the staff very helpful. There were different options as far as the size of the rooms and the cost of the rooms for each individual's needs. Mainly, I liked the location and the personnel. They had three or four efficiency-sized studio apartments ranging from around 300 square feet up to maybe 700 square feet, which were better as far as pricing options and how much room an individual needed whether or not they needed access using a wheelchair, and things of that nature. The cabinetry was low enough to use with a wheelchair, which I found helpful. Unlike some of the other places, they didn't have full-size refrigerators. They were more user-friendly for people needing more therapy for walking or something like that. If you were on a walker or in a wheelchair, then you have easy access to those things. The showers in the bathrooms were elevated, so it was more difficult to get in the shower for an elderly individual with walking or standing issues. But other than that, the rooms were clean, they were nice, and they were well cared for.
This is a low key community that has two floors. Everything is accessible in the community. It is convenient for the residents that is close for activities and dining. It truly feels like home inside the community. Some of the activities available include magic shows, music, games, field trips, movie nights, and more for the residents to choose from. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and there are choices for the residents to choose from.
Friendly and welcoming staff. They take care of their residents!
Very pleased with the amenities offered for my parents. Gives me a peace of mind. So much to do in a homey neighborhood feel.
My brother and I enjoy visiting our Nana and Pawpaw and doing some of the activities with them. They love living there and all the people that live around the neighborhood. Kathy and Ed Drummond
Great staff, lots of fun people!
Our loved one needed a transition place before she was able to go home after coming from a hospital and the fact that the staff just cared so much really saved our loved ones life. We thought this community was so nice the second we saw it that we did not want to tour any other communities. Based on the experience we had with Liberty Ridge we would recommend them to other families.
I liked the openness of Liberty Ridge. There were a lot of windows and outdoor facilities for them to sit and enjoy. The staff was very courteous and very friendly. The rooms were very adequate and they had activity rooms and gathering areas. All the residents seemed very happy and I saw a lot of socializing.
I visited Liberty Ridge. They were very pleasant and very nice. It was open, the staff was very friendly, and the residents seemed to be very happy. There were several of them out at the time enjoying some entertainment in the breakroom. My mother really liked the fact that they actually have a minister on staff daily, and she actually stopped and waved at him. He came out of his office and talked to her for a few minutes. The apartments were absolutely beautiful, and they have several options to choose from. We looked at the food menu and the variety was pretty nice, so Mom would be able to pick and choose what kind of entree she would like daily, and the breakfast looked like an amazing menu as well. The grounds themselves were really nice. It's like a park-like setting. It's tucked back in a little alcove. It's a pretty busy area, but it was kind of hidden, so it was really nice. Residents can get out and walk. There's a pond there, geese, and all kinds of stuff. It looks like a very pleasant place. It could be a very viable option for Mom. It looks like a very nice place to be. The staff we talked to was very pleasant. We talked to the social activities manager. She was very pleasant, very upbeat and fun, and then we talked to the minister. We met the lady taking care of the front office, and she was very pleasant and helpful, too. It looks like a little older community, but still well kept and very clean. The individual apartments were absolutely beautiful. It looked like everything was modern. They probably kept those up really, really well.
My mother there one year in memory care. She had stroke while there, and after hospital stay and brief couple months of therapy, moved her to new facility. On advice of others, checked out several newer places. 2 other families mentioned the strong perfume scent at front door. One gentleman said out front by sidewalk, he "dreads walking in their front door." Newer facilities, the bathrooms made for walkers and wheelchairs. Memory Care Side very tiny. Some don't have closets. Can't get wheelchair in small room at Liberity Ridge ( memory care unit), let alone in their bathroom. Had to move walker each time just to open dresser drawer. Newer places made for comfort, and elderly in mind with walkers and wheelchairs. Can wheel up to sinks to wash face, hands or brush teeth. No wheelchair fits in Liberity Ridge bathroom in memory care. Nice seats in large walk in showers. New toilets higher for ease of elderly and several different position grab bars for safety at newer facilities. Old fashion toilets with low seats at Liberity Ridge. Hard on older ones to get up and down. No closet in several rooms at Liberity Ridgde. Beauty shops in new facilities, some services less expensive also. Adds up. I like idea of many more people working on week ends in other facilities. One Sunday at Liberity Ridge, went in to visit. Young lady by herself working, had on a not so nice TV show will just say, sitting in chair, arms crossed, and these dear elderly ones had no choice but to watch the filth. I stood in doorway upset and asked " if there was anything else they could watch?" She half hearted put it on "International House Hunters. " Really??? Like these dear older ones looking for a house overseas??? Not a very smart girl. Should be doing an activity with them. That's what being paid to do. Not watch TV. Stealing time from her employer too. She went back to her show after I left. No management in to to keep eye on things, that worried me. Why not Golden Girls or Andy Griffith, as it is residents home, she's not paying the rent, she should have interacted with them, played games to cards....instead watching filth on TV. I worry with no management there on week ends to keep eye on things, aide by herself in locked area watching TV. She knew no one in memory care would say anything and no boss there to check to make sure doing job. Brought to management's attention Monday, gave them the time, they look at security cameras, she no longer works there. Another time, young lady watching videos on her cell. I'm sorry, they are there to work caring for residents, interact with them. Not to play on cell phones or watch TV. I was standing behind her watching her watch video games. Took my own video as proof. On week ends no authority to keep eye on things and perform checks. This also steals time from employer. Employee know they have place to do what they want. With no management in on week ends, I felt need to run in, which I did, to make sure she's okay, if active and proper shows on TV. I pay them to do their job, I had to do it for them. I will say one thing, during the week...Suzanne and Paula do a wonderful and professional job. Bernice too. These 3 ladies are mature and so responsible and do a wonderful job. I only wished they could be there 24/7.You'd never have to worry. Check out Preston Greens, next to Costco, it's perfect. Mom loves it and I'm relaxed. They really keep them busy and 100 percent Covid Free. Director send sends me videos and pics all week long, and she's there in person keeping eye on things all day long on Memory Care side. Literally hands on. 2 directors. Not 1.
They have a smaller memory care unit, and a wonderful assisted living area. This wasn't the right fit for my loved one.
Liberty Ridge is a safe, comfortable, friendly, fun neighborhood. The staff are very accommodating to its residents. They offer weekly and monthly activities to all who would like to participate. You get a free meal per week, and you have the option of purchasing a meal every day from the cafeteria located in the Assistant Living Building on campus. For a small cost transportation is provided for doctor appointments...etc. Our yards are weekly manicured and we have maintenance men who are very prompt to take care of your request for repairs. The neighborhood is conveniently located to the Hamburg shopping center. I have lived at Liberty Ridge for 11 years and enjoy it very much. This is a stress free living environment. I have not talked with anyone who has not been satisfied living here. Sincerely, Toots & Walt Courtney
My mother moved in to Liberty Ridge in mid-February, 2020 - just before the Covid pandemic became serious. I am thankful every day that she is there. She is safe, fed, involved in activities, and has been vaccinated. I could not have provided this care for her as I live out of state. The Liberty Ridge staff is caring, kind, and they have kept the community safe during this awful time.
A wonderful and caring staff that truly cares about the residents. They go above and beyond to support my aunt who is in the memory care unit. Their communications especially during the time of COVID have been excellent.
I have lived here at Liberty Ridge for the past eight and a half years and cannot imagine, at this stage of my life, where I could be any more pleased than I am right here at Liberty Ridge. The facility and staff are simply wonderful. Orin Morgan
We were so blessed to find Liberty Ridge for our mother. We looked at lots of places but this was far and away the best choice. They have great accommodations, food, services and the friendliest most caring staff ever! I am so happy knowing she is well cared for at Liberty Ridge.
I think they do a wonderful job, especially during the pandemic. They are very attentive to resident’s needs and try to engage them in activities
I have been associated with Liberty Ridge for many years. The staff have always been very caring and considerate of both resident and their family members. I've always appreciated the faith-based family atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family alike.
The rooms at this community were wonderful, and we had one care giver that was absolutely amazing. She took really good care of our loved one. We would absolutely recommend this community to others.
We love the activities director, and when we first walked into Liberty Ridge community, our minds were at ease. It is just a peaceful place. The rooms are very nice, and we would recommend this community to a family or friend.
Liberty Ridge Senior Living Community has been a wonderful experience for our parent and our family. The compassionate and dedicated staff, along with the beautiful grounds have made our parent feel so welcome. We evaluated several facilities and Liberty Ridge was the best option - we liked the faith-based, independent status - not a corporate facility. Their staff retention was important - we think our parent needs to see familiar faces each day. And the food is great!
Liberty Ridge has been an wonderful facility for my mom to live in. She has been in Memory Care for almost 3 years. The staff is very caring and I know she receives a high level of service. I would highly recommend Liberty Ridge!!
My mother has lived at Liberty Ridge since 2015, first in assisted living and then in an independent-living house. We have been so happy with the community and staff here. The adjustment of first living in assisted living after my father passed away was difficult for her but the staff were so helpful and happy to work with her and always had a smile and ready information for visiting family. She really loves living in her independent-living house now and I feel good about knowing that help is just a couple of minutes away in the "big house" (assisted living complex) if something happens. Her house is beautiful, updated as needed and has lower counter tops and bars in the walk-in main shower and in intercom and pull-cords to call the assisted living house if a serious problem arises. There are no steps for my mom to trip on. The staff at assisted living will call 911 if needed and are not supposed to be at the beck and call of the independent-living residents, but they have come over to help my mom a couple of times when she had minor falls just because they are good people that want to help out. The maintenance department has also been really helpful and keep up the house and repair/replace things as needed promptly. The community of people that live here is another great reason to move here. Only seniors can live at Liberty Ridge and there are always people out sitting on their front porches or walking around the neighborhood. There are also activities for them at the big house during normal times (they have tried to protect the assisted living residents during the Covid outbreaks by restricting access to the big house and no cases have happened in the entire complex that I'm aware of). The residents all look out for each other too. My mother and her widowed neighbor call each other every day to make sure they're each doing ok. I feel really good about my mom living here and our family loves to come over to visit!
We have lived in a Liberty Ridge Garden Home for two years. Our only regret is that we didn't get to move here sooner. Everyone is super friendly. The area is quiet and nicely landscaped. It's like living in our own small town in a secluded private corner of Lexington. It's the closest thing to heaven on earth--really! If you're not already on the waiting list, sign up as soon as possible. You won't be sorry.
This is the best of the best for a great relaxing retirement home. Been here for 3 years and feel blessed to be here.
I moved my mom into Liberty Ridge just as the corona virus pandemic was revving up in March. In a difficult time, the help I got from staff in settling her into her new place was exceptional. Though I have not been able to visit her in her new apartment, I have had the support of staff in my communication with her and the times of visiting while social distancing. My mom has adjusted well and I have peace of mind that she is being well taken care of.
During these uncertain days with Covid 19 it means so much to have my mom in a place like Liberty Ridge. The staff are kind, loving and give my precious mother the kind of care she needs and deserves. This gives the family such peace of mind. Thank you Liberty Ridge for touching lives one at a time! You are doing a great job!
What’s the guess WiFi password??
Liberty Ridge made my Mother feel at home. The staff is outstanding. Plenty of actives and events. I would recommend Liberty Ridge.
Liked the atmosphere and staff seemed engaged. wish they had a nurse on staff.
Liberty Ridge is a setting where residents can get good care based on their needs, even as they change. From independent cottages to assisted living and memory care, a person will feel cared for and a part of a community.
One of the biggest decisions I’ve had to make - choosing an assisted living facility for my 85 year old mother. From the moment I spoke with them on the phone, I knew this was the place. Everyone - Bruce, Tina, and the team could not have been more friendly and welcoming. We’ve signed her lease and can’t wait to move in !! Don’t make the mistake of considering a “corporate chain” facility - visit Liberty Ridge and see the difference!
Best staff, caring staff, happy staff.
I have had an association with Liberty Ridge for over 18 years. A more caring, professional staff would be hard to find. Great activites, fine dining, home like atmosphere, and set in a beautiful green space.
