Reviews
for Preston Greens Senior Living
Everyone is very friendly and helpful. His laundry doesn't always get done on the scheduled day. The activity directors are fantastic! The food isn't that great but I think a new chef has been hired. Less expensive than other places I looked at. Overall, I would definitely recommend.
We had a bumpy road getting my father in law settled but he seems to have adjusted very well now and everyone seems very nice and helpful. The director of memory care and all staff have been wonderful and so so patient with my father in law. The food is very good and there are many choices for picky eaters!
Amanda is so great to work with and Preston Greens is absolutely fantastic!
I went in for a tour the staff was very friendly and informative. Nice clean facility as well but a friendly staff means everything when looking for a place for your loved one!
This place is lovely. Facilities are the top. The wonderful staff will work with you to find best options for your loved one. They are caring and extremely accommodating. When walking with them through the public areas, one sees their connections to and care of the residents, AND their families. To be able to live in such a wonderful place , would be a blessing for anyone. And to know your loved one is there, would be even more of a blessing.
Compassionate, caring, and eager staff with elevated & engaging activities tucked into a contemporary and elegantly designed space. My mother is a physically young 75 year old with early dementia, so change is hard for her, but she's very active. Amanda has ALWAYS gone above and beyond to take care of my mom and help make her feel comfortable when moving into senior living. The entire staff at Preston Greens has been so welcoming. They are all friendly and initiate conversations to obtain a deeper understanding of my mother's likes/dislikes, and seem to genuinely care about her and I. Amanda also understands my busy schedule, is more than happy to help me navigate the changes and takes the initiative to complete things for me! This is a breath of fresh air from where my mom lived prior to moving here. You really know how to help lighten the burden during an already difficult time! Thank you Preston Greens & Amanda!
The facility is clean and they do a very good job keeping resident rooms clean unlike other places we’ve been. The nursing staff is excellent. They’re a bit slow on helping them to get integrated. Residents are friendly.
We haven't moved my father-in-law yet but I am very comfortable that he will receive the love and care he needs here. All of the staff we have met has been wonderful. Ryan has helped us every step of the way and is happy to answer any questions we've had. The building is beautiful, inside and out. Very pleased so far!!
Moving my dad into assisted living is a big change not without its challenges but Amanda at Preston Greens went over and above to help us. She was readily available, highly personable, and genuinely caring. The facilities are top notch, and the food is good, but it’s the people that really make the difference. Everyone from front desk staff to dining staff to maintenance has been friendly and helpful. We are so grateful for everything they have done for my dad!
Preston Greens provides me with a rich life and the individual care I need at this point in my life. I enjoy the variety of daily social activities and group outings. The community areas (including the dining room, bistro, lounge, theater and library) are comfortable and allow residents to relax and enjoy different interests. I have never seen a staff so committed to ensuring residents live fulfilling lives. Preston Greens has become my second family.
Great Place!!!!! 5 Star Service
So far it's been a really good experience for my mother. Before she was moved in she just sat at home not doing much. Now she is exercising some, doing crafts, eats and I know she's safe. That's a blessing in itself.
We were looking for an assisted living facility for my father in law. We had gone to visit many in our area. When we walked in Preston Greens we were very impressed! It is just beautiful inside, friendly people with happy residents. We decided to take my father in law to visit Preston Greens and 2 other facilities in town. After seeing Preston Greens, my father in law said he didn’t need to see any other place! He has been there about 6 weeks now, and he seems to be content. Although we are pleased overall, we have been disappointed in the communication with the staff. We have had many emails ignored and go unanswered and the food is ok but not wonderful. They have a menu that lists about 8 optional choices if you decide you don’t want the “special “, but those get old after a while. It would be nice if they rotated that optional menu every few months. Also the service is very slow in the dining room! I do recommend Preston Greens! Overall I would give it an A-
I toured Preston Greens Senior Living. When you walk in, it's a beautiful place. It's more like a hotel or resort, and brand new. The staff was very friendly. He took me on the tour, showed me around different things, and showed me the rooms and where my dad would stay. It's very nice, but I can't afford it. They have different stuff to do. They told me about all the different crafts they have for them daily. The price wasn't bad compared to others.
My mother has early to mid stage dementia and she’s a very social and outgoing person. We visited a few places but nothing felt like home. On our visit to Preston Greens the staff and the residents made it clear it was the place our mom needed to be. They made it clear the staff was friendly , the food was delicious and there were tons of activities for residents to go. Our mother is doing so much better on a routine, eating healthy meals, making friends and benefiting from the in house physical therapy. Mom couldn’t be happier so we know We made the right choice.
There is such a turn over with staff. Which is very common these days I know. I didn't like the shared rooms. Something helpful, ask for a private room. Communicate with staff regularly, go at different times of the day to see what is happening. I am sorry if my comments are not helpful. It wasn't a great experience.
Beautiful, modern facility with a good amount of activities. Staff and residents are very friendly. Highly recommend Preston Greens to others looking.
Put an application in for an interview they were very rude walked by me like I didn't exist. Waited there for over an hour the director and the HR person walked right by me and never even spoke I had to speak to them. Long story short they didn't even acknowledge me. Glad to find out this is not a good place to work at.
Preston Greens has been a good choice for my spouse. However, I’ve had to stay on them to do his laundry. [name removed], one of his caregivers is amazing and [name removed]at the front desk is very friendly and helpful! Nurse [name removed]is great!
I would recommend Preston Greens. The negative is that some times they are short staffed and there's a long wait for a caregiver.
This is probably one of the nicest assisted living places in Lex ky. The staff is very knowledgeable and very cordial
My 99-year-old mother can be a lot. The staff at Preston Greens has been so kind and understanding with her. It’s a beautiful facility and she’s living her best life here.
I toured Preston Greens Senior Living. The community is excellent. I can't say enough good about them. They are just excellent. The staff who gave the tour, Ryan, was excellent in answering questions. The rooms are excellent, too. They're clean as they can be. I like the friendliness of the people and the construction of the place. The dining area was magnificent, too.
This was the first facility I looked at for my father and as soon as I saw it I knew it was the one. The others couldn’t compare to the amenities and atmosphere, and he has thrived since moving in.
Beautiful living and very kind staff members!
I chose Preston Greens Senior Living because of the atmosphere. Everything was bright. Everyone was helpful. Seems to have a little problem with management. I would definitely recommend this facility to others looking.
At Preston Greens Senior Living I got to see people eat, and the staff said that they eat at their kitchen nearly every day. Everyone seemed to be pleased with their food. It was very safe, very clean, and looked nice. If I was in my mom's position, I feel like I would be OK being here with all of the amenities that came with it. I know in the memory care every person had a roommate. It was just very smartly laid out the way they have the place, like there was motion sensor light in the bathrooms for the people who can't figure out how to turn on the light. They had a pretty big courtyard area for anyone who wanted to go outside. They could go out on their own if they wanted to. It's gated in pretty well. They had a huge TV in their entertainment area. That's good for my mom because my mom loves watching TV, movies, and stuff, and she can't hear or see very well, so a big TV is good for her. The staff was very nice and very helpful. They felt for my situation with my mom, and they even offered us our first month free if we decided to do it during a certain time period. They're really trying to help us out the best way they can, so I really appreciate them. The facility was really good from what I've seen. The guy that showed me around seemed to have a relationship with a bunch of residents. He makes sure that he says hi to them every day and check out how they're doing. I could tell that they care about the people who are staying there.
I definitely would not recommend Preston greens memory care.: My loved one fell 8 days aftermoving into the community, and was admitted to the hospital. They were aware of her history and even told me she needed to be checked for one two to three days prior to her fall, but that never happened. They told me they were unable to take her back due to the level of care needed after the fall. I paid thousands, and and was told at least some of the fees would be refunded. Nothing has been and they simply have stopped returning my phone calls. I am very disappointed and disheartened by this experience.
The facility has a unit for Memory Care, Personal Care, and Assisted Living. Mom was in personal care, a level up from Assisted Living. She had nursing staff, caregiving staff and a doctor available as needed. This avoided a stay in a nursing home. The food and housekeeping were dependent upon staff. There seemed to be a lot of turnover. Moving in was good. The facility recommended a mover and stagers who did everything (not free). I would recommend the facility. The caregivers were extremely attentive and even when mom was difficult, they were patient.
Staff is helpful and responsive. Some go above and beyond, but others do the minimum. Housekeeping is hit and miss. We went without a housekeeper a couple of months when one quit, then the new one left/was fired shortly after being hired. They clean ok, but again, only do the minimum sometimes. Communication is not great. They fired the executive director soon after we got there, a new one was just hired, and the management company just changed, too. Most things are found out by word of mouth from other residents or caretakers. Memos (when rarely sent) are given out on Friday after 5. So there is no management to explain or talk to until Monday. Food and the dining room has been a big issue. A new chef was recently hired, and they have been trying to improve the way the food is served the whole last year. Waitstaff often don't show up and caretakers have to take up the slack. Food quality is hit or miss, too. Seems that costs have a lot to do with that. The move in process was fine. Obviously you do that yourself or hire movers. Rules and changes in those rules need to be posted or sent to residents. The facility itself is beautiful and new. The rooms are sized nicely. Maintenance is a little slow, but they get it done. Transportation to appointments was a nightmare, but they have bought another vehicle now. Improvements could be made, but I haven't stayed at another one to make a comparison. If they get some things lined out, I would recommend it.
Preston Greens Senior Living was beautiful. It's new, well-kept, and over the top pretty. The memory care was separate from the assisted living. The memory care, of course, was locked. One of the things I like there is that they had things going on several times a day to engage the memory care patients. The staff were very knowledgeable, very good and very caring. It was higher priced, but it was nice.
5 weeks ago I came to the chef Payton and the DON Jackie Thacker. I told them the hrs I would need and pay and I was assured I would get everything as expected. I put a month notice in and came to do my paperwork with Preston Greens. My start Date was to be 2/27. I stopped into to do a run through of everything I would need to cook. I was told the chef is expecting to have a baby during my start date. When I came in Payton ask if I could he flexible with my hrs and another employee that he hired on as well. I advised that I could not. I have 2 children to raise and that does not fit into my schedule for my family. I do not feel at ease about this. I came into Tammy the ED office and explained I was worried and she said a new company had came in and was cutting hours. But assured me and the other employee not to worry. The next day the ED text me....text me did NOT call. She told me that corp would just allow her to hire at this time. 1 week before I was start my new job. Also my position had been filled already. Now I do you have a job . I have a family to feed. This company does not care about anyone but themselves. They are cowards and money hungry people. I wouldnt trust them with my my loved ones. Also the kitchen is Dirty
I thought this place was hands-down the clear winner of everywhere I saw up there. The availability of larger rooms was a huge plus The fact that the place is only four years old is a big plus. And the price can't be beat for what you get there.
I don't see that PG or its parent company have any concern for the wellbeing of the residents or there staff. Most of the administration comes and goes as they please no matter the needs of the business. There are a few good directors left but not a lot. Lower level managers try their best but are just cutoff at the knees by middle level managers protecting their own behinds. Maybe they'll figure it out one day but I wouldn't plan on it. Their regional people need to get out from behind zoom and do their jobs but I foresee them just continuing to blame everyone underneath them causing unnecessary turnover at this location.
My Nanny lived at Preston green memory care from august to November. Staff is unwelcoming, always short, communication between staff and family doesn’t exist. Good facilities start with good administration. Although this place checks off for all the bells and whistles, the care here is under par. Lexington has wonderful memory care units, AND PG IS NOT ONE OF THEM.
What has made the Preston Greens Senior Living such a great experience so far is the staff, they have been great. We also like the sizes of the apartments they have for the residents. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to others.
Jackie, Mary, and Dustin are the most helpful people in difficult situations. You cannot go wrong asking them for help.
I am currently a resident at Preston Greens Senior Living and everything at this facility has been great for me so far. The cleanliness and friendliness are great. The staff and care services are also great. Communication with the family is good. The move in process went well. The food is great and is of good quality. I would recommend Preston Greens Senior Living to family and friends.
Preston Greens is Amazing and I love the relationships I have built since being here! I’m very grateful!
My husband and I haven't been living here long, but love it here. Everyone is so nice and helpful. We love our apartment.
Preston Green is not only a great living environment for seniors but also a great work environment for employees. The entire staff goes above and beyond every day to ensure this is the best home for the residents
The Dining staff are all amazing!!
Man this William guy is the best server there is
It was the best of all the places I went to. It's in a good location, it's fairly new, I believe it was built in 2018. So all the facilities, everything is updated inside, and everything there was outstanding. The staff helped me with everything that I needed to be helped with. They have a nice dining facility with menus which you can order from. They had a bar and happy hours. They had a movie theater. You sit down and watch movies. Everything was just state of the art.
What we like the most about the Preston Greens community is the fresh design, the people there and the meals that are prepared. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.
My mom is moving into here. It's absolutely beautiful, and I love the staff there as well. Heather was wonderful, very, very knowledgeable, and insightful. Like she kind of informed me of things I did not know about, memory care and things like that. Even though I'm not going to be living there, I just felt like I was at home there. The rooms are very, very nice. I think this is the first time that I did a tour where they have like a little kitchenette area. Most of them do not have that. So you get like a sink with some kitchen cabinets, you get a little refrigerator. And I was like, "How nice is that?" When I sat down with Heather and we talked for about 40 minutes before we even toured, it was almost like I have known her my whole life. That's how easy it was to talk to her. Very, very nice, very knowledgeable, wasn't pressing the issue, and what really sold the deal is at the end she was like, "Even if you do not pick our community, if you have any other questions, please call me and I'll help you the best that I can with your search." We have a complimentary lunch tomorrow, and they're gonna do an assessment on my mom to see what level of care she will be. I actually got a tour while the memory care residents were eating lunch, and I was very pleased that, of course, you got some residents that cannot feed themselves, but you had staff there that were cutting up their food, feeding them. It was like three or four staff there with a handful of residents during lunch time. I thought that was awesome, like everybody was being cared for. When I first got there, some of them were exercising upstairs, and I could see they had a man that was helping them do exercising. I did get an activities calendar, they do have activities scheduled every day for the residents as well, whether it be a craft or exercising. I was just very impressed. It was just very clean. From what I gathered while I was there, it looks like it is a very great community for an elderly loved one to live there, like they seemed to be very, very caring.
Staff and caregivers are helpful and friendly. There is a nurse on call. The food is good and tailored to your dietary needs. I've been very happy with everything except activities, and that is only because my mother is blind. There isn't a lot in which she can participate.
The facility and most of the workers are very good. It's like many other places in that there are 3 shifts, people often miss work, and the consistency of meds giving along with your everyday needs and care being met are not good at times. You're often explaining several different times what needs to be done to new workers. It takes a while to get adjusted.
We recently moved my Father into Preston Green. It has been a wonderful experience. The facility is absolutely amazing, the staff are all super accommodating, the residents friendly. Dad also really loves his room and the food. This has been a great experience thus far.
We had a wonderful time this afternoon having dinner and learning about Generations! If you are looking for a place for a loved one please come check it out.
