What's Argentum Working On?

KSLA's parent organization Argentum is the leading national trade association serving companies that own, operate, and support professionally managed senior living communities in the United States. We wanted to let you know what they're working on because, as a KSLA member, you benefit from their efforts.

The Heroes Act

The House-passed HEROES Act in May included many of Argentum’s COVID-19 policy priorities. A compromise is still being negotiated by House and Senate leadership, with a self-imposed deadline of passing a final package before the August recess. Argentum continues to press for a dedicated allocation from the provider relief fund, reasonable liability protections, priority PPE, and testing, and—as the name of the bill suggests—for all senior living workers to be eligible for much deserved “Hero Pay.”

Reasonable Liability Protections

Together, with the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA), LeadingAge, and the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), along with Argentum partners at Willis Towers Watson, and supported by our State Partners, Argentum has led an ambitious 50-state initiative engaging with legal experts in senior living liability to protect providers and staff through executive orders or legislation.
